Did you know that Billy helps create a second Green Ranger?
In the Boom Studio comics, when Tommy loses his powers and the Dragon Coin is sealed, Billy goes to Grace Sterling, the one-time Red Ranger from the 60s, for help in restoring the sixth Ranger. Through analyzing the Psycho Dagger that Grace retrieved from her encounter with the Psycho Green Ranger on the Moon, the two scientific geniuses are able to reconnect the Dragon Coin with its power source.
Billy is elated to finally bring good news to Zordon, but Grace refuses, believing that humanity needed to pick its own Power Ranger. When she suggests that perhaps the best candidate is the recently-returned Drakkon, Billy balks at the obviously bad idea. Grace then admits that giving him the Coin would only be in a worst-case scenario.
Later, Lord Zedd creates a new set of Dark Rangers and they turn out to be powerful enough to actually destroy our heroes, even with Tommy as the White Ranger! The Dark Rangers and their fearsome Terrorzords are on the verge of victory when a new, upgraded Green Ranger leaps into action!
They attack Lord Zedd and destroy the Chaos Crystal that powers the Dark Rangers, helping to save the team, but leaves the battle without a word.
At the next encounter with one of Finster’s monsters, they learn that the new Green Ranger is not Drakkon, but who exactly is something they’ll uncover later.
