The Truth About the Final Dino Charge Power Ranger!

The Truth About the Final Dino Charge Power Ranger!

2 Minute Read

This is how the Boom Studios comics fulfilled a promise made by the TV series.

In Dino Charge, Heckyl, along with his alter ego Snide, was an antagonist to the Power Rangers. He ends up with the possession of the Dark Energem, but we never got to see the Ranger that would result from that—until the comics.

In it, Heckyl returned to his home on Sentai 6. His mentor, Zenowing, encourages him to take this chance to actually live a life, and for a time, he does.

However, knowing that the forces of darkness would arrive again, Heckyl is determined to prevent the loss of his home a second time. He argues for the creation of a Ranger using the Dark Energem, but Zenowing believes it to be too dangerous, so Heckyl does this in secret!

Ironically, it is this betrayal that draws the dangerous Arcanon towards the now-corrupted Morpher.

Heckyl is indeed able to defeat Arcanon, but the Dark Energem starts to mangle him back into his evil alter ego once again. Zenowing arrives and sacrifices himself for his pupil to stop the change!

Now fully the Dark Ranger, Heckyl is faced with the consequences of his actions, and resolves to protect Sentai 6 from all who would threaten it.

It is then that he hears Zordon’s cry for help during the Shattered Grid crisis. Now with renewed purpose and a guilty conscience to atone for, Heckyl answers the call!
