Did you know that there is more lore to the 2017 Power Rangers movie?
In the comics sequel to the film called Aftershock, Angel Grove reels from the stunning arrival of Rita Repulsa and the Power Rangers.
Their final battle leveled a good portion of the city, leading to the establishment of a refugee camp in the central park one week later.
Resources are stretched thin, so the community is glad to see the arrival of Samaritan Relief, which promises to help them with supplies.
However, while the aid is real, Samaritan Relief is not, and they come to the city with a hidden agenda!
Meanwhile, the Power Rangers are dealing with a new threat: a pair of siblings who bond with the leftover magic gold-infused putties.
It enables them to create and pilot a giant monster made of earth and steel, which they use to attack the city!
They are defeated with the help of Billy’s scientific knowledge.
Later, the Power Rangers are sent by Alpha to investigate a new possible threat.
It is then that Samaritan Relief reveals itself to be Apex, a secret government agency that is not too keen on having Earth defended by alien operatives they cannot control.
Apex promises to keep an eye on the Power Rangers—for now.
Sadly, we may never see what happens next with this now-canned reboot.
