On the lighter side of things, in the Boom Studios comics, there is a short story about the time that Farkas Bulkmeier and Eugene Skullovitch were recruited to become Power Rangers!
It begins with Billy lamenting that he would never get his magic act together for the Angel Grove talent show. Always snooping, Rita takes the opportunity to create a monster called Sir Locks-a-Lot, who succeeds in trapping the Rangers in his literal treasure chest.
As desperate times call for desperate measures, Zordon summons Bulk and Skull to the Command Center and empowers them with the ability to morph.
Bulk, brash and powerful, becomes the Purple Ranger. Tough and unusual, Skull morphs into the Orange Ranger.
Almost immediately, Zordon and Alpha seem to regret their life choices, but the new Rangers jump into action!
They encounter Putties… and immediately run away, but bumble into an effective team-up move. The new Rangers then hide from Sir Locks-a-Lot, but manage to find their courage and take down the monster, much to the surprise of everyone.
The two heroes celebrate their victory, but are quickly de-morphed and have their memories erased by Alpha.
They may never remember, but we will never forget the time that Bulk and Skull became Power Rangers!
